Zero to machine bed

Hi Guys
I have a pro4896 and i cut a lot of full sheets of plywood, My question is if I want to zero to the machine bed with my touch plate I can’t because the full sheet is in the way.
Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance .

If you’re using an EX control you can just set your Z offset to zero in the Set Part Zeros>WCS menu.

If you’re on Mach you will have to put the bit on the bed somewhere where you can reach and manually Z zero there.

Thanks ,I will try it.

Maybe I’m missing something, because I do the same thing, but I zero with the touch plate to the spoilboard before I put the sheet on. Basically the first operation of the day before I cut cabinet parts.

I am cutting plywood cabinet parts that require multiple bit changes , So there isn’t a problem
with the 1st bit, it’s the subsequent bit changes . With a full sheet on the machine there is no place to put the touch plate,

Ahh, I see. I run my blind dados and parts with a single bit, and use shelf standards instead of pins. However it’s been awhile so yes, you’re correct if you do multiple tool changes.

I would attach some spoilboard material on the y axis extrusions and surface that at the same time as your main spoilboard. Use that to zero.

Or add a tool touch off sensor. There’s also a thread here to add one but I was trying to figure out how to do it with the touch plate and indexing against the y axis extrusion.
