Just thought if anyone was looking for unique accessories for their CNC frame, McMaster-Carr has a lot of attachments, like trays, cup holders, etc.
I don’t know that it counts as an 8020 accessory, but I bolt all kinds of 3d printed holders to my machine. Stuff like the key to the chuck jaws on the rotary, the lubrication gun, etc.
I’m vaguely thinking of clamping a work piece directly to the front extrusion as a primitive vertical work holder. But I haven’t really put much thought into that yet.
If you can fabricate unique items to provide the same purpose, you just save some money!
I was looking for a few more wire tie anchors but could only find a box of 100 for $26.
Nylon Screw-In Cable Tie Mount, Two-Way, for 0.39" Wide x 0.09" Thick Cable Tie, Black
The Roll-in nuts are expensive and you only get a 4-pack.
So I guess the cheapest is just to wire tie miscellaneous wires to the outside of the frame where I want to route them.
I 3D print these twist-in cable tie holders for 8020 all the time:
Here’s my design if you want to use it
Hey Eric. Well that would definitely do the trick! Thanks for sharing the file.
Unfortunately, I sold my 3D printer several years ago and got a laser printer instead, which I use more. Too many bells and whistles on the 3D printer software for my taste. I had fun with it but I didn’t have the patience to master all all settings.
Much appreciated, tho. I’m sure others will be taking advantage of this file!
