AvidCNC Relay Module external control

Is it possible to control the AvidCNC Relay module with an external power module and switch? I’d like to create a remote switch for powering the EX Controller (110v) and Spindle Controller (220v). If so, what voltage/amperage does the relay control need and what is the pin out of the M12 connector?

Thanks,

Larry

Larry,

It’s 24V and here’s the relay module schematic:

Eric was assisting me with something else for those ports and it was labeled with Brown/White positive, and Blue/Black Negative.

So Pin 2 Positive & Pin 3 Negative would control one of the relays and Pin 1 Positive & Pin 4 Negative would control the other relay.

I used mine to control the power to the control box and the VFD box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WQyK2BuXBE&t=12s

Thank you! That will be very helpful when I wire my switch box. Do you know what voltage/power the relays need from the M12 connector? Best I can tell it’s either 12V or 24V.

Thanks. It was that video, that I found on youtube, that went on my todo list. I’m in the process of adding a 4x4 extension to my 4x2 Pro. I also upgraded to the EX controller and bought an AV40S spindle. This is my first experience with the VFD. While installing the spindle I noted the M12 cable connected to a 24v wall wart and is used to power the relay for the manual tool changer. That seemed easier to me which lead to the post. I plan on using the relay module to power the EX and the VFD as you did but use a wall wart to supply the 24v (12v?). So, thanks for the reply and thanks for the video.
