Hello.

What part are you talking about?
The utility in the plasma where you just set your machine at point A and then point B and then it will cut off. this is such a time saver in the plasma side.
Something like that would be awesome for the router parts.
Because I could just clamp the material on the table and it should not be in a straight line and be able to cut it.
I am busy with a job right now that I would need something like that.
Tnx!
That’s a neat idea… it’s a little more difficult to do because you’re dealing with tool size, passes rpm, etc.
Doable but there is more nuance to it.
You could check out the Intercon Feature in CNC 12. It allows programing simple CAM programs right at the machine.
Well not necesary about the bit size because since you align your bit where it needs to cut…so it would not matter if it is 1/8, 1/4 etc same as the plasma does. on the rpm and passes maybe if it this info be stored beforehand…
The thing is here no alignment should be needed…on the plasma I use it all the time.
I am waiting on Eric’s quick tip video on Intercon
I would think you could practically do the same with the MDI. As a simple example, you would set X/Y zero to the end of the cut, then move to the start of the cut and tell it to move from there to X/Y zero at a given feedrate. Easy if you can set your Z to the cut depth off the part. Adding a Z move adds minimal additional effort. No need to set bit sizes, offsets, etc.
Intercon ‘Line’ would also do it, with a little more information from you, but I get that you’re looking for brevity.
