So I used the machine (EX, servo, AV40) many times yesterday - changed my Vcarve file to cut the exact same part on a different piece of wood (dimensions had changed). Went out this morning powered up, homed the machine, loaded up what would be the first endmill and went to use the touchplate to set x, y, and z zero. I got an error saying I cannot use the touch plate utility with an unmeasured tool. Please measure tool and try again. Clicked on MTC and measured the tool. Went back and touch plate utility says the same thing. Can’t - it’s an unmeasured tool. Ugghh
Went back to utils and recalibrated the touch plate and work surface. Ran MTC again, and yet still again can’t zero the workpiece using the touchplate.
Powered cycle machine. Power cycled the PC. Reran the “check/configure the PC” tool. Restarted cnc12 - MTC, and still can’t use the touch plate - unmeasured tool.
What is going on ? Probably operator error, but I just can’t figure it out. I’ve re-watched Eric’s “making your first cut” video, and I just don’t see what I am missing.
Pointers appreciated. Thanks !!
