Cnc engraving bit

Good day.
Question any one is using spring loaded engraving bit with good succes?

Which bit? I was looking at widgetworks…any other alternatives?

Tnx.

Are you asking about diamond engraving bits?

Yes …forgot to specify.

Tnx.

I’ve used the widgetworks one, and it worked exactly as advertised.

I’ve seen some youtubers use mc etcher which is $40 instead of $180. If I were doing it over again I’d probably start there.

I’ve used a couple spring loaded Diamond bits, they work pretty well with a trace tool path.

These are the ones I have.

Diamond bits

I used this one from Amazon with success on Clear Acrylic Sheets

RDZ Diamond Engraver Replacement TIP for CNC Machine, Spring Loaded Drag Engraving Tool with 90 Degree TIP

I’ve used the same RDZ 90 degree bit on acrylic for marking up templates.

For one project I tried to use it on brass as well, but I found the markings to be too fine for my liking. I have been meaning to try the 60 degree tip and see if I like the result better, but have not gotten around to it.

For metal engraving as well as really fine lines on wood intended for infilling with brass powder and CA glue, I’ve been using engraving bits from precisebits.com.

In particular these ones:

I’ve only used the widgetworks one on brass, stainless steel, and painted surfaces works very well. The initial cost is pretty high, but last time I checked the replacement tips aren’t too bad. My original tip works fine yet though.
