Here’s the first real project from my new Avid 4x8. A heart box! I did a similar design with my Tormach using epoxy, but for this version I did a wood inlay. I’m working on a video of the process. Flor now…here’s a few pictures. I make a few of these for sale…but i’m also thinking about making the files available for CNC woodworkers to make them. Let me know if you’d be interested!
Oh my goodness is this ever a wonderful design. I see so many cool probjects on here, I hope you and others are inspired and continue to share!
This is fantastic Corbin!
(excellent photography too!)
I’ve shared this with our team as well. Keep it up!
Whoa nice! Also a fantastic, nostalgic song from 1993!
Now I’ve got to step up my projects AND my photography so thanks for that.
Thanks! One of my main goals is to inspire others to do cool things with their machine
Thanks Eric! I’ve got more ideas in the works…I just need to catch up on them.
Haha! Yeah, I should use that Nirvana song in my video (whenever I finally make it). I grew up in the 90’s and grunge rock was super popular back then.
I bought a roll of butcher paper and set it behind my things for photography; that increased the quality of my photos 5x!
I put a few more pictures on my blog: https://www.corbinstreehouse.com/blog/2023/03/heart-box-cherry-wood-and-madrone-wood-wave/
Impressive project!! I see so many great projects here. I would be interested in the design files as well should you make them available. I did some simpler boxes years back before I had a CNC.
Thanks! I’ll definitely let everyone know if/when I get files organized. I use Fusion 360, but I know a lot of people like Vectric’s software. I generally like to provide all the CAM, as that is the hard part.
Here’s number 2. I reduced it to maple on the top and cherry on the bottom with only one “wave” part separating the two woods. the maple was too close in hue to the cherry, so it doesn’t show up as well. #3 will have walnut and cherry.
Stunning work Corbin! That is something to be proud of.
