Laser job estimate way off

I noticed my laser job estimates are way off, it may be related to the machine config in aspire. How should this form be populated for a servo machine

Don’t use that… load the job into CNC12, hit Graph and look in the top left for a time estimate. It will look like T=00:15:12

This will tell you exactly how long it will take based on your exact machine.

The Vectric estimates are way off if the acceleration is a significant portion of the time (which it can be for a detailed laser job).

If you want to do it offline, then in version 12.5 they just added the ability to add your machines acceleration settings to the configuration which is supposed to help (I haven’t tried it yet).

If you can do it online, then do as Eric says and use CNC12’s estimator since that knows all the machine’s settings, it can do a much better job.

thanks that is the best way.

I’d like to get Aspire’s calculation a bit more realistic.

Where can we find our current machine acceleration settings and units in CNC12?

You really can’t… machine acceleration is not linear. See my post above. You can “graph” the job and in CNC12 and get a good time estimate there.

Just a little side note in the toolpath summary if you change the scale factor to 1.0 it should bring your total down significantly but not perfect
