I am a long time woodworker/furniture maker but new to CNC especially the CAD/CAM aspects. I am looking to see if anyone on here would be willing to design a chair seat to my specs.
I have a 5 X 10 Avid and Vcarve Pro for designing but from what I know about the designing Vcarve does not create compound curves, such as the depression of the saddle and the curve back up to the pommel and waterfall over the front of seat.
I am located in the US and would like to be able to hire someone that I could have a phone call with to hash out the details.
Below is a basic idea of the compound curves I am looking for (the fluid, more organic flow) this is a pic I found online I don’t know who to credit, just a basic idea of what I am looking for.
Don’t know if it will help but i have a few tractor seat files that might help. They have a very similar look and you might be able to manipulate them in your software to accommodate what your looking for or at least get something close and maybe need to sand to final shape. If your interested hit me up. and I will try to get them to you. You can also try fiverr.com I have used them before for a couple things when I started out. Sometimes you can get a decent price for services.
Thank you for the suggestion, we have seen this vid, when we started doing research but still weren’t able to get what we are looking for, need a bit more instruction I guess
I work with models like this regularly and can help you build the seat model with compound curves outside of VCarve, then get it toolpath ready for your workflow.
We can talk through the details and ensure everything is shaped the way you want.
