Just asking if anyone has any idea on this?
I’m willing to bet there working on it!!
I asked the the same question early on.
I am guessing its going to be the one that @corbin uses - the Hiteco QD-1F 4/12 24 I30
I hear Avid is working on it, but for now it is pretty easy to add a CNC Depot one; they have various HP options. I have the QD-1F, but I probably would have gone for a CNC Depot one if it was available when I got mine. I didn’t want a 3hp one (s30c); mine is around 5.
Thanks Corbin, I did reach out to cnc depot they told me they no longer offer the avid package and to contact avid because they are coming out with a atc machine. SO I will wait to see what they offer and go from there.
Thanks again
Thanks Jeff
From my recent discussions with avid they will be coming out by end of year with an atc spindle, and by middle of next year a tool rack solution that will retract and use the area at the end of the table to not reduce your work area or increase the footprint.
That’s interesting…I didn’t know CNC Depot stopped doing their options for Avid. You could still do it DIY, but it would take a lot of knowledge on how to wire the VFD and relays. I am working on a customization of Centroid’s CNC12 software for ATC support on the new Ex controllers.
CNC depot referred me to Gary Campbell at GCnC Control which is a centroid approved system builder. Gary seemed like a nice guy but I am waiting for every thing to settle down in the avid/atc/centroid space before I replace my circa 2010 Avid 2x3 machine.
@tperry retractable tool rack is incredible! I figured I would be extending my bed by a foot to not lose any more cutting area.
We just got our first look on avid’s IG story! I guessed wrong, looks like it won’t be the Hiteco.
Looks nice! can’t wait.
yup. looks suspiciously like the now “out of stock” cnc depot case but with an avid logo. Very exciting!!!
I was told the new system was the 1st step into ATC
