On your size machine tool posts would rob you of significant workspace so your approach might be best.
I got the Husky from Loews, It claims to be quiet but that is relative, I wear ear protection when it is on and it reaches above 90db in my garage. I got it because a friend said they will replace it when it fails, I hope they do 
I have 3 manual water removers inline but I need to get some bigger ones. My shop is air conditioned but I still have a lot of humidity around.
