I don’t think you need an update to solve this problem, however it might be something you might want to do.

Before you update though I’d try to solve this problem
Ok when you say turn down the Z Clearance. Specifically what does that mean.
Change the travel limit of Z? Currently at 8.6 change to 8.3 or less
Changing that number to .970 enabled the process to complete.
Ok, that means you were really close to the top of your Z travel.
If you did update there’s a new option that will always go to the top instead of a fixed number, which would have avoided this… However your fix is totally fine if you don’t want to update.
I will update and see if that works as well.

Sorry but where do I find the instructions for updating. The apply update button on the startup screen is looking for a different file type than the downloaded one.
You don’t really update when there’s a version jump per se…
The “apply update” only works for “in place” updates. So say we did a minor tweak to version 5.18 you would be able to apply that in place.
To go from one major version to another you have to install a new profile and set it up again.
When you do this you keep your old profile too, and you can jump back and forth if you need… So you could keep cutting on 5.18, install 5.22 and work on getting it setup and when you’re ready to switch over you just stop using 5.18
This isn’t like Mach where you can update in place unfortunately.

You’ll be fine. It’s really safe to install those new versions. We never delete your old one so you’ll always have it unless you actively select it to be deleted
