Restart a Paused Job

Yesterday I was doing a cut on my Avid CNC EX and I accidently hit a space bar. The job paused and I was unable to restart it. I was able to figure out what line of gcode was needed to restart the job. I entered that number in the “search” field. However when I tried to restart the job it went back to the beggining of the job. I thought there is a way to restart the job and the software would look back in the g-code and restart the spindle and the job correctly. Help

Boom!

Eric, this post makes me want to start thinking about upgrading from my old Mach3 setup to your entire new system! Great job! Thanks!

Thanks I am able to restart a job but my next problem is how do you change a broken bit in the middle of a job. I have tried to do a manual tool change but for some reason it will not do the tood change. I have tried to change the bit and then manually set the zero but then it wants to start at the beggining of the job. I am able to set a line number in the search box but when I hit entered the number in the search box changes.

You would stop the job, replace the broken bit, run MTC (because you changed the bit) and the restart the job as normal.

Since we measure tool length you don’t need to re-zero Z, in fact you shouldn’t

This video explains it very well:
