So I was upgrading my Z Axis with the EX control system and new servos and to install the brake you have to add a bearing at the bottom, well when I added the bearing that came with it there’s certainly no room to add the rest of the break. I’ll attach A picture of what it’s supposed to look like from the instructions as well Eric if you read this maybe you can figure out what’s going on appreciate your help as soon as possible thanks.
I took another picture with the bearing removed and it looks like there’s 10.4 mm a shaft for the bearing and the break assembly how much should there be question ? Oh and the bearing is 7.95 mm wide.
Here’s what I decided to with some help from the hive mind. For the time being eliminated the bearing so the brake mechanism can attach to the ball screw.

So was this a case of a older Z axis? Or something else. 
This has been solved. We had a couple of slight variations of our Z out there (pandemic related changes) so we had to make a small update to brake upgrade parts that come with the controls. All sorted now.
