So, I decided before the next round of furniture making begins (two Stickley style beds and 3 dressers), that I wanted to upgrade my 28 year old Delta Unisaw.
In particular, I decided to replace the Incra TS II fence system, the delta sliding table, and the also swap in a new JessEm router & left on the router table mounted to the right side of the tablesaw.
The Harvey Fence I chose allows me to switch between metric and imperial easily by swapping out the rule under the viewfinder, and in addition I added a digifence to it with a readout that can also be switched between metric and imperial.
The main reason being that if I"ve building 32mm based cabinets (with most work don on the AvidCNC now), I occasionally need to cut parts by hadn’t on the tablesaw in metric to match them.
I decided to re-use the support legs for the right hand side of the fence system from the old Incra fence (to support the weight of that router table), and wanted to make sure that the legs were on TOP Of the mobile saw base that the whole thing could be moved around (yes, I found a mouse nest under the saw after 15 years (and a bit of missing insulation from when I sheeted the shop walls!).
So to the CNC I went to cut out a perfect X-brace using 1/2" plywood. With holes for mounting it on the t-tracks of those old Incra legs. Entire thing bolts to a piece of 2" steel angle bracket that spans the front and back fence and bolts into existing T-tracks or holes.
Came out pretty nice! Paint by Krylon (3 coats of poly on the edges sanded to remove the witness lines, then primer, then color coat).
First picture is the “before” (already partially disassembled).
