Suggestions for camera setup?

Hi P!

I know there is tons of wisdom here, I look forward to those with much more experience to chime in over time also.

I’m new to YouTube, not so new to woodworking.

Basics:
—Decent smart phone for recording is frankly just fine. Bigger real cameras are even much better but lots of popular creators use phone cameras at least some of the time.
—tripods. Get a couple cheap /used on fb marketplace! I like the joby brand bendy one for tabletop.
—audio: makes such a difference. I got rode brand remote lavaliers. Can hook into iPhone also and really levels up production quality.
—voiceovers, I got shure mv7 and I get so many complements on the voiceover audio
—final cut pro x does wonders for video AND audio editing. Bit of learning curve but you can google or YouTube any answer.
—lighting. Take some time to get this bright and right! All that effort building and recording is too valuable to just turn out dim and grainy. I got super bright LED hardwired lighting I put up on shop ceiling and never looked back. (And never look up either. It’s too bright!)

Have to run now but maybe that’s a bit of a start for others to edit/add on to!

Good luck!
Ryan
