Vacuum + T-Slot Hybrid Table

I’m replacing my spoilboard with a new design that incorporates everything I’ve learned from the prior one.
I currently have a Black Box Hurricane vacuum system (w/ 4 zones) that will get used more often in the future for full sheets of plywood so that needs to , but I find myself often using hold-down clamps that get screwed into the spoilboard (which eventually leaves a mess.)
I’d like to incorporate t-slot and dog holes for all the small/quick jobs I do.

It occurs to me that if the top layer of MDF doesn’t get skimmed at all then the open dog holes would serve to allow for suction - any exposed holes per zone would just need to be plugged with a dog. This would also mean t-slots could be used as long as the dados they drop into are sealed first. The inside of the dog holes would need sealing too I guess…

Anyone have experience with something like this?
