Found a cool watercolor of Lake Tahoe, so I made a custom frame for it. The bottom curve and the “peg” inlays were cut on the AvidCNC.
Excellent design and even more excellent fixturing!
Nice! Did you square up the peg holes, or end up rounding out the pegs? Are you in Tahoe? I live on the north shore in Truckee.
They were squared with a chisel, but full disclaimer, those weren’t pegged tenons. They are really just faux pegs (more like a screw cover with no screw!). The joinery is actually Festool Domino.
We’re on the central coast near SLO, just took our first trip (well, since my Mom got remarried when I was 14) to Tahoe last year. Actually found the painting at an upscale mall in Reno while visiting my wife’s Aunt.
I recently got a Domino, but as you probably saw in the video I was bit unhappy with it and shipped it back! I’m going to buy another one at some point; they are very handy and save a lot of time.
Did you reply to the wrong thread???
