EX 5.22 u1 random tool touch off tripped while jogging

On 5.18 r0 u1 I have never got this error that I get consistently with 5.22 r0 u1. When jogging it stops randomly and complains about the tool touch off was tripped while jogging randomly about every 8-16 inches of y movement. Sometimes longer sometimes shorter. I went back to 5.18 and have no issues with this behavior so I am not sure how to troubleshoot. At first I thought somewhere I was getting noise into the system but why would it work on 5.18 and not 5.22.

Tim

I am seeing this sometimes too. I thought I had seen a tech bulletin on this a while back but now I cannot find it in the AVID support area now.
@Eric , do you know where that bulletin is? I thought it had to do with some of tool height setters being overly sensitive and tripping due to vibrations?

Hmm. I wonder why it would happen only on 5.22. But one thing a helper noticed was it seemed louder on 5.22 vs 5.18. Not much, but wonder if there is more vibration? But there really is little to nothing I can feel.

It may be simply ignoring the touchplate input while jogging on the older release. I haven’t had time to look into it, and I can’t find that tech buletin anymore.

This doesn’t have anything to do with CNC12. Some of the fixed tool height setters (touch plates) can trigger when the machine is jogging.

You can mitigate this by taking these steps:

(This will be a permanant change in any future software releases)

I don’t see the setting you mentioned in the wizard. Can you tell me where it is?

There isn’t anything in the Avid wizard. Use that link in the previous message to figure out how to disable this nuisance warning.

I have intermittent tool height setter trips also.
