So you’re not using the extra 24 volt power supply that came with the AV spindle?
The one that plugs into the wall then into the m12 cable? I circled in the picture where I got power
Yes, that power supply. Are you still using that one, or are you sourcing all of your power from the control box instead?
I’m sourcing all my power from the control box the one that is circled in the above picture I am not using the separate power cord that plugs into the wall. I received a email from avid support saying
“Pins 2 and 7 could connect to the power supply inside your spindle controller as it can supply enough current, or you could install a small secondary power supply. “
Ok, so if you’re powering your spindle up from the main control box if you ground pin 1 it should move the drawbar up as long as it’s grounded to the main control box… provide the other criteria are met: Spindle is stopped, there us enough air pressure, and the inhibit signal is not activated.
Is there a way to check if the inhibit signal is not activated? I did try connecting pin one to ground in the spindal / vfd box and the control box and it did nothing. There is enough air. The button works fine on the side of the spindal. And the spindal is stopped.
if the spindle is inhibited by either an external source or conditions in the spindle itself (like it’s spinning or doesn’t have enough air) the lighted ring around the button will be off.
The lighted ring around the button is on
@Eric, does the AV70s have a low air pressure signal somewhere?
