Y axis slave motor only travels in one direction

I move my machine and it was in the middle of a construction project for several months. When I started it back up all seemed well but when I tried traveling the gantry will move one direction. The main motor travels both directions but the slave only travels one direction. I switched the cables to see if it was the control board and the machine behaved the same just reversed. I don’t know if the motor got hit or moisture but it’s making me crazy. Also the slave motor responds to the movement but only drives one way not reversing. Any help would be appreciated. Even when I switched the cables and used a working driver board the motor only went one way and the other responded correctly.

Sounds like the DIR (direction) signal on the slave motor is probably not connected. Reseat your cables and boards between the ESS and stepper drivers.

You sir are an amazing human being. I went out this morning at 5 AM Read your reply and pushed down on the boards and one was unseated by about a millimeter and that was the problem! The machine immediately homed and was ready for work! Thank you so much for your information and knowledge. By the way, I love the content you create and one of these days I’m gonna get that tool changer lol

You’re not the first guy that happened too…I just pay attention to what is going on in the forums
