Z axis Problem. It lowers to the table when controller is turned off

I had the same problem with my steppers. The drag brake screw on my Z comes loose after a while. I added a little blue lock tight to them and tightened them up. Avid’s got a support doc about it, but I can’t find it right now.

If I have a separate counterbalance, do I need the drag brake? Would there be any advantage to removing it?
