Coffin for Dad finished just in time

A few years ago I made a casket for Mom at her request. At Christmas dad asked me to make him a coffin, customized with specific engravings that he wanted. Finished just in time as he passed yesterday, just a few weeks shy of his 91st birthday. It was a great project to take on and I enjoyed the project despite the mixed emotions of doing so. It pushed my skills to a new level and gave me some time to think of times together, and how he thought me to use my hands to build things. Very rewarding project to take on.

I was recently thinking of doing this for my dog, which is getting older. And I don’t know if I’ll do it, I did think that I would probably have mixed feelings (like you confirmed) during such a project, and it would be an emotionally difficult project and I’d feel strange doing it. And I’m not talking about a parent. I can’t imagine how that was. But maybe I would regret if I wouldn’t do it I think.

I’m sorry for your loss! God rest his soul!

Wow! Honoring thy father and mother! It definitely gives a time to reflect on our love ones, our salvation and our daily walk with Christ. Because in the end, we want to hear the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant”!

There are no second chances to save your soul.

You did a fantastic job!
