Interrupted axis movement

Hi ! i started having a problem with my 4th axis and also with the other axis (X, Y and Z)
Everything started while using the 4th axis.
The problem is that the axis makes small stops when it shouldn’t, which causes it to lose the coordinate since the Mach 4 continues sending the information and the axis apparently moves less than it should.

This is a link where you can see what i’m talking about

It also start to happen with the other axis, most of the time when moving from one position to another.

It seems like a comunication problem between the computer and the cnc, but nothing changed from the last program that i used las week.

I didn’t try it yet with the 3 axis, like cutting a plywood or making simple cuts, since this start to happend.

Let me know if any have an idea that what might be happening.

Thanks Guys !

I had that happen a few times when I was using Mach 4, I had an extension cord laying parallel to the ethernet cable and it was causing a nosie coupling issue.

Hi Rab, thanks for the suggestion. The 230V cable was close to the Ethernet cable. After running some more tests, I realized it was all the Windows updates that were making the PC slower. To verify it was the memory, I opened all the apps that i have on that PC, and the CNC wouldn’t even move on any axis. It was the same problem as i mentioned in the first message, but multiplied by 100. I added more RAM, and everything works perfectly. I did the same test, opening several apps, and the movement remains unchanged.
I’ll run some programs to verify that everything works good. I’m planning to update the PC in a few month, every windows update make the PC slower, more updates will be coming i guess.
Thanks so much for the help!

I bought a mini computer for a couple hundred bucks and dedicated it to the CNC. I added a 200 dollar touchscreen and I dont use that PC for anything other than running Acorn. I use a laptop for all my design work.
