I use a laptop to run my avid 5x10 and am trying to get some ideas on laptop mounting ideas. I have my rotary up front so building a drawer up there to hold it isn’t really an option. Would love to see some ideas as to what others have done! thanks for sharing any ideas/solutions.
I modeled a 3D printed pivot point for mounting on the corner of my machine (on the corner 8020 vertical support). The intention is to put an articulated stand on it like the one in this video from Tools Today.
By putting it on the corner, the stand can rotate from the end of the machine (X-axis) to the side (Y-axis) depending on which of the multiple clamping areas I’m using. What matters most is that I can get close where I typically locate the corner of the stock.
Hoping to get it finished in the next couple months.
I bought a used medical monitor arm from a dentist and mounted a monitor and a NUC pc on the back of the monitor. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse on my workbench. This keeps all the wires off the floor and I can pull the monitor over to the machine, or keep it up out of the way, or have it over my bench like a desk.
