I found this on Amazon and it works quite well Day two with the laser and I already had a incident
I had to grind a little bit off the plate with the hole but that’s it.
Thanks JN for the idea!
I kinda wanted that dock… but I cheaped out and designed and 3D printed my own version of it:
That’s the Fusion file if you want to spin it around.
One thing I did to make sure I didn’t knock the laser off was but a bolt in the back that secures it to the dock. Removing the laser is easy.. I just push it down and remove the one M5 in the back and it’s off.
That looks like a smoke extractor?
Yup, I have that hooked up to an exhaust fan. It worked better on the 15 watt laser, this 45 watt has a really strong down draft fan which really fights against this…
These downdraft tables work better:
I think that’s the best answer honestly. If you cut smaller parts on it you can cover sections of the table with scrap cardboard to direct a little more suction where you need it
Hey Eric, is it possible to get this updated to the new laser design? The new tool mount does not have this tab to mount it to
That was my design.. that backing plate was 3D printed as well, and is in that model. I haven’t tried it on the new laser deploy yet…
oh ok, thank you. Sorry missed that in the file.
No problem!
